My Favorite Wallpaper

I find that most wallpaper sites are pretty lame and focus more on bikini shots and other such pictures (though I haven't the faintest idea why people would want to display that on their desktop). I find that the best wallpaper is scattered across the Internet and is hard to find if you are looking just for wallpaper. I have decided that I should share my hard-earned wallpaper with all of you. I don't remember where I got all of this stuff, but I link to the sites when I can remember. These sites aren't very "safe for kids and family friendly." The only exception is Taner.net, which is a pretty cool site (if you like cars).

To make this page, I had to make several different versions and link to the different versions. Though I have double-checked the links, I still don't feel confident that they are all right. If you find something wrong with this page, feel free to e-mail me.

If you don't know how to change your wallpaper, Big Idea has a good set of instructions.

Cars

Formats: 800x600

The interior of a BMW M3.

Formats: 800x600

A good shot of a Mercedes-Benz SLR.

Formats: 800x600

Another good shot of an SLR.

Formats: 800x600

The top view of a Konigsegg.

Formats: 800x600

A rather minimalist background picture of a M3. I think I got this from FlashKit.com. It took a guy three hours to make this.

Formats: 800x600

A nice shot of a Porsche 911.

Formats: 800x600

An Audi A4.

Formats: 800x600 | 1024x768

Pictured here, from left to right, are a RennTech CLK, an older 911 Turbo, and a new 911 Turbo.

Formats: 800x600

A nice shot of a 911 GT3.

Formats: 800x600

An artsy picture of a Saab 9.3 Viggen.

Formats: 800x600

A Saab 9.3 Viggen car next to a Saab Viggen airplane.

Nature

Formats: 800x600

Fish

Formats: 800x600

A beach somewhere.

Formats: 800x600 | 1024x768

Some cliffs somewhere else. I think I got this from the PiranhaClub.com.

Formats: 800x600 | 1024x768

One of my favorite beach shots. I'm not sure palm trees can grow at such an angle, though. I think I got this from WebShots Community.

Note: I put the 1024x768 in just because I had it around. It's really just the 800x600 blown up.

Formats: 800x600

Another beach picture from WebShots with a palm tree growing at an insane angle.

Computers

Formats: 800x600 | 1024x768

Spice up 'ol Windows with a nice picture of a Mac. This one is from The Apple Collection.

Formats: 800x600

Another good Mac background

Formats: 800x600

This one didn't last long on our desktop. I guess my dad wants to be close-minded or something.

Formats: 800x600 | 1024x768

The default Mac OS X background. Great for a PC!

Formats: 800x600 | 1024x768

The default Windows XP background. Great for a Mac!

Note: Since most Macs run at 1024x768, I made a 1024x768 version out of the 800x600, so don't expect a big resolution gain with the 1024x768 version.

Architecture

Formats: 800x600

A big house with plenty of room for icons in the grass and sky.

Formats: 800x600

A weird shot of a building. I don't think this one ever made it onto our desktop.

Formats: 800x600

I put this one up, and my dad promptly took it down. (You can see where he works.)

Formats: 800x600

London in all of it's long-exposure splendor.

Other

Formats: 800x600 | 1024x768

One of my all-time favorites. My mom hates this one, though. (From www.Taner.net)

Formats: 800x600

The classic Get Smart intro.

Formats: 800x600

My dad usually replaces the backgrounds he doesn't like with this one. It is Big Idea's takeoff of a painting called Nighthawks. This scene appeared in a Veggie Tales movie.

Formats: 800x600

Since I don't really like the other Veggie Tales wallpaper, my dad doesn't like the Dallas wallpaper, and my mom doesn't like the big eye, we've settled on this one. It's a scene from Larry Boy and the Rumor Weed. (That's Mr. Nezzer on the left, and Daddy Carrot on the right).
